|| Stephen M. Perle, DC, MS, FICC
My name is Stephen M. Perle. I am a chiropractor who graduated from the Texas Chiropractic College in 1983. I started practicing in New York City shortly after graduation. With a background in athletic training my practice specialized in sports chiropractic, mostly athletics (track and field, road running and racewalking). In 1991 I joined the inaugural faculty of the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic (UBCC). I have been in chiropractic academia since that time. UBCC is the first university based chiropractic program in North America. I am currently a Professor of Clinical Sciences in the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic.
I received my Masters in Exercise Science from Southern Connecticut State University in 2002 with a concentration in human performance. My masters' thesis was on the human performance effects of ankle manipulation. My research interests are primarily related to the biomechanics of manipulation. I also have research interest in quality of chiropractic care including the delivery of manipulation, ethics and patient interactions.
I am the ethics columnist for both the American Chiropractic Association's ACANews and Dynamic Chiropractic.
Editorial board member
I am an associate editor of the peer-reviewed online journal, Chiropractic & Manual Therapies
2012 - American Chiropractic Association, Presidential Service Award
