Medhat, I applaud your efforts to start editing. You will note that I changed a few items to conform with wiki protocols. Firstly, creating a new page for Palmer, when there is an existing page for the College(s) which could be improved upon was unnecessary, what we do is create a redirect page for an alternative measn of identifying the original article; e.g., for Palmer Chiropractic College, a search would have turned up Palmer College of Chiropractic, or even Palmer University, thus it was only necessary to enter as follows: #REDIRECT [[New Page Name]], and that would bring the viewer to the original page, if they type proffered spelling or wording. Thus, there is no need for two pages for the WHO, when a redirect could take a reader from WHO to World Health Organization.

Finally, for something like the WHO, I would suggest that, first, we should copy the entire article from Wikipedia, and then edit that one for WikiChiro purposes, rather then reinventing the wheel.

Please continue to contribute. This is a really auspicious start!!! Remember, you can click on this blue link (the Russian letters) to get to MY talk page to answer me. When you do, leave a signiture with four tildes thusly... Stephen ~~~~ it leaves this link... дрсйпдц 15:13, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Nice work.

This was a really good first attempt at referencing. And with difficult foreign language references at that. Bravo again. There are a few issues, and we will talk later. You may see paragraphs that are now set in boxes... that's because you left a space before the first letter of the sentence.. so the system insets the entire paragraph. Easily fixed. дрсйпдц 07:36, 13 April 2012 (MST)

OK, NOW I'm impressed. Not only with the volume of your career's work, but with the speed with which you have started to learn this WikiWorld stuff... Fantastic job!!!

Now, we need to find references for all the statements.

That's the tedious part. Look for example at Stephen Press and you'll see examples of the kind of referencing we need.

Don;t worry, at some point if you need me, I'll pitch in and help you. дрсйпдц 20:00, 22 April 2012 (MST)

Place things in order of date, newest at bottom. Its a kind of formatting thing.
Then notice that you don;t need to number stuff... if you place a # sign in place of the *, the list will automatically number itself. дрсйпдц 20:05, 22 April 2012 (MST)

Interesting next step

We'll talk about this... you were "wikifying" the article and that's good. However, for each Wiki site, one does this differently. For Wikichiro we need to think about what articles are appropriate to and necessary for our mission, i.e. educating the world about Chiropractic. Take another look at the stuff you put in brackets... and the length of the names you did that to. Remember if there's an existing article on a subject we tend to use that as a basis for the links. You're definitely learning. дрсйпдц 11:09, 24 April 2012 (MST)

Not done yet.... a ways to go.

A couple of items need to be done still.

1st, you listed things upside down... they should be newest on the bottom.
2nd, I tried to show you how to number a list without typing numbers... i.e., use a # sign instead of the *, and you took them out.
3rd, there are lots of entries for things like the WFC, Life and Palmer where you forgot to place them in brackets... i.e., wikifying them
Finally, 4th, there NO references for all your statements.... that's the real homework!!

If you need me to show you examples... I'll place a [citation needed] template in the article where ever you need a reference. дрсйпдц 18:35, 24 April 2012 (MST)

Before you create a new article page, you need to be sure its not already in existence, so as not to duplicate it. E.g, your creation of a page of the ICA, when its already there as International Chiropractor's Association.

Also, its better to leave a title in red than create a mere stub instead of a full article on the subject. So if you're not ready to actually write an article, leave the link open (red), and be sure that WikiCHIRO needs to know about that subject before you put it in brackets.

Now, you need to go through the Biography and add both brackets to phrases like ICA, and Palmer College , etc... as there are articles already here.

Finally, go to all your statements of your numerous accomplishments and find a link to add a reference to them, they way we did in the Italian Assoc article... if you need a link to see all the citation templates look in "help"... You're doing great!!! But a bio this long and detailed is a lot of work as you are finding out. дрсйпдц 22:33, 25 April 2012 (MST)

Hard at work? Great...

We need to have a session on HOW to enter the references.... you're just putting urls in line, but you need to use the citation templates.... дрсйпдц 11:52, 5 May 2012 (MST)

Right idea...

Check out the corrections I made in your references... дрсйпдц 16:14, 7 May 2012 (MST)

you're getting there... sooo close. You just need to actually follow the formats of the cite template. This is critical that all headings be there.

<ref> OR <ref name=""> MUST precede any {{Cite web, or {{Cite whatever.... then after it closes }} it MUST have the </ref>. You have to give each citation a different name if you use the <ref name="something"> in place of the <ref>. And, you have to leave the words, author=, title= etc in the cites for them to work.

дрсйпдц 17:01, 7 May 2012 (MST)

Great, now next lesson: When you need to use the same reference more than once: this is why you use<ref name=""> in place of <ref> (you can use <ref> when you will only use the citation one time), for the additional iterations of the citation, you just need to insert this <ref name="name"/>, and it will add another number to the reference entry... check out what I did for you, on this <ref name=EOA> дрсйпдц 18:49, 7 May 2012 (MST)

Broken links in referenes

I fixed some of your references, because they printed out wrong in the references section. reason? there were spaces in the url line and that breaks the citation. дрсйпдц 14:31, 8 May 2012 (MST)

Egyptian Chiropractic Association

Check out the page on the Russian Chiropractic Association, for an equivalently small association's article. The Egyptian Chiropractic Association can;t just be a one link on a page article. It needs to be developed into something more than what we call a "stub". You're getting there.... phewww. дрсйпдц 17:08, 8 May 2012 (MST)

PS - a lot of statements, means a lot of references... дрсйпдц 17:10, 8 May 2012 (MST)

Citation needed?

Medhat, you just remove it altogether when you enter a citation there. Very simple. .... oh, and please sign your messages with four tildes... дрсйпдц 19:13, 10 May 2012 (MST)

I will try it

It sounds simple thanksAlattar

Cool? There are still some issues...

You have certainly found some cool reference cites.... and developed some really COOL skills. Only problem, is that if this were on Wikipedia they would pick this apart and remove a lot of this work... Why? Because the statements you are referencing, are those that say YOU did such and such a thing. The contentious references merely show the places or the NGO's sites or locations... to keep references on Wikipedia, you'd need references that actually say YOU did what you did. That means a radio show YOU appeared on, in any language... a Newspaper article in which you were interviewed and they printed what you are saying in your bio... "Dr. Alattar worked with the Red Crescent Society.... yada, yada..."... Perhaps there was a website like Life's where THEY had you bio listed previously....., or someone ELSE's website talks about you, saying these things.... get the idea ? You are doing FANTASTICALLY well. I LOVE the quickie page on the Egyptian Cairo-practic Society  :)... (now you need to say something about is history...). You used the Categories correctly, and have come about a thousand miles toward running a Wiki.... you're Sooooo.. close. дрсйпдц 22:22, 10 May 2012 (MST)

You've been busy!

You've been a busy bee. Great job! Proud of you. I hope you are justly proud of this accomplishment too. Don;t know if I could have done what you did in a second language. дрсйпдц 18:04, 14 May 2012 (MST)

Thank you. I am ready for mt next project

Thanks Stephen. I learned a lot. I think I am done with my first assignment. I am ready for my next project.Alattar

I need to talk to you

[9:24:06 PM] Medhat Alattar: I need to talk to you about a proposal submitted to me by faculty members at PCCFAlattar

Call me after 11:30AM, @ 201-569-1444... дрсйпдц 23:05, 14 May 2012 (MST)

Elements of a case study?

I think that rather then list a bunch of case studies in the article on case studies, perhaps we should give specific information as to what constitutes a study, and what makes it publishable? I.e., what are the elements required? Each case study will be categorized under "Category:Case Studies", and thus all will eb available by looking at the category дрсйпдц 07:45, 18 May 2012 (MST)

Great... talk when you have chance... going to Scottsdale on Thursday for ACA Sports Council. So before or after Monday.

дрсйпдц 07:55, 13 July 2012 (MST)

Uh oh! Forgot how?

Medhat... you put references in the live article, but didn;t use the templates properly, so the whole reference in in the paragraph of the article and not in the template. See Shreve for how to fix this. дрсйпдц 08:26, 25 July 2012 (MST)

we need to talk

Two things: 1st, we incorrect the incorrect usage of references on that article... and, 2nd; I replaced the Japanese Wiki with Arabic. Go there, create an account and I will some in an you the administrator. дрсйпдц 21:04, 26 July 2012 (MST)

You fixed it right! Shukran. Mobruk.

Check it out!...Arabic language Wiki. дрсйпдц 08:07, 27 July 2012 (MST)

Arabic wiki

Ok need to open a new account there. Separate wiki, so references from or to the other still need to have absolute URL's thus: etc space then what you ant to on your sandbox However, like with the english wiki, you need to confirm your email in the same way. When your address is confirmed, then you will have editing authority and I can make you an admin there. Also, plese use FOUR ~'s in signatures, that leaves a time stamp, not just your name. дрсйпдц 13:13, 28 July 2012 (MST)

Alkeroberaktk ?

Is that a transliteration of the Arabic word you are using for Chiropractic? Or something created by Google translate? Interesting. Try to re-create the Main page by copying the code, from say, the French and translating everything that's in French to Arabic. You can look at the English one because that will tell you what the French one says. I suggest the French one, because I have removed a lot of extraneouos code from the alternate Wikis that's in the English one and this will make it harder to rebuild it in Arabic. дрсйпдц 12:04, 4 August 2012 (MST)

Why can;t you edit that page? Are you getting an error message? Can you translate it and tell me what it says? I have you admitted as an Admin, and thus you should be able to edit anything on that wiki. Maybe you registered the second account? Which login are you using? (don;lt give the PW here). дрсйпдц 10:32, 5 August 2012 (MST)
Solved is right ! Good start. If you are having trouble deciphering the code to figure out what to translate, and what to leave, ask. I am having a huge difficulty with translation, even with google translate the English that comes out is half gibberish, but I get enough to see you're off to a great start. I have confidence that you'll learn more and more and figure this out, so your WikiCAIRO  :) will keep getting better. дрсйпдц 21:49, 5 August 2012 (MST)

Linking to Google?

Not sure what you mean exactly. Google will catalog the site as soon as there is some kind of signioficant content on it. we have little to say about when they do that. This is called SEO, and there are firms that charge big bucks to get this done. We have no funds to hire them right now, unless you have some ideas where we can get grant money??? Drsjpdc (talk) 14:04, 6 August 2012 (MST)

Medhat; you need to try to get the links to the other wikis in the main page like all the languages have, so one can easily go from one to the other. If you need help with the code... ask me. Drsjpdc (talk) 12:14, 7 August 2012 (MST)

Blank articles?

Medhat, perhaps we should get some material in these articles, before we post too many more.... it's going to start looking a bit odd to have so many empty pages with titles and no article material. can you give me an idea of what your thinking is about this? Is this part of the student project you're arranging? If so, perhaps we should create a Category especially for that... Drsjpdc (talk) 07:53, 8 August 2012 (MST)
