OK first try.

But we need to talk about protocols for placing article on a wiki. So, I am moving the article to a "sandbox" , a subdirectory of YOUR talk page, where you can develop the article until its ready for live space. It's a good base, but needs to be "wikified" . See below a blue link to the sandbox article. You can work on it there first. дрсйпдц 21:19, 26 June 2012 (MST)

Applied Kinesiology Article

Applied Kinesiology

OK I started to WIKI format your article

Check it out... I started the process of wikifying the article. You have a nice section that explains how to reference an article, but on wikis there is already a system in place for exactly that And THAT is what I need to show you, so you reference articles online. дрсйпдц 11:17, 4 July 2012 (MST)

I restored your article. The template is not called Tmplate:Kendall & Kendall, but {{ Cite Book... etc... authors are Kendall & Kendall... Try again.

дрсйпдц 15:45, 8 July 2012 (MST)

OK, better.

Now try to include the URL for the reference in the template as the last field before the }}</ref>... i.e, |url= This way the references will be live, and the reader can actually go to the reference to see it, wherever its possible to do that. Its not a requisite, but is preferred. дрсйпдц 20:39, 8 July 2012 (MST)

Dead links?

Where are you getting these links? This one, eg., is dead.... дрсйпдц 14:54, 9 July 2012 (MST)

Fixed! and Signing messages?

  • I fixed your deletion. It was not of the ===References=== 1st sub-section, which should properly be a ==References== section anyway. What you deleted was the {{reflist}} template that interprets the references to that section. I merely replaced it. It can be
, or when there are this many references it looks better to format it as {{reflist |2}}.

Did you see the award? Check it out at: User:Arosner. There are literally hundreds of barnstar awards for every occasion. (PS thanks for signing) дрсйпдц 11:20, 10 July 2012 (MST)

Holy Cow!

I figured that the Wiki Award was just a figure of was I to know that there was a badge involved??? MANY THANKS!

Wonder how this would look on my resume.....

Moving Forward

I have live links to replace the dead ones that are in my AK article. But before I go in with more changes, can I get assurance that the version that is on there now [and received your accolades] will be preserved in some queue in case I mess up? And how would that version be retrieved after I've saved another?

Dead Links Fixed

The two dead links at references #11 and #12 have now been fixed. More work to follow.

Need Further Input

Tried to reach you about a week ago--Skypes not getting through. My AK piece still looks good in the sandbox, but I don't want to touch it until I hear back from you on three issues:

1. If I add two references where "references needed" is indicated, will that automatically renumber all the following references both in the superscripts in the text AND in the Bibliography?

yes! it will, but that's fine... you need to remove the {{Citation needed}} template and then insert your reference there.

2. If for any reason I make a change and screw up, are previous drafts [like the one that's in the sandbox now] saved so that they can be retrieved?

Absolutely, every change can be systematically reverted. So the good news is that everything you ever wrte on a wiki is still there, and the bad news is ....well the same!  :)

3. I have about 8 illustrations to put in. How would I go about doing this?

try putting in the following: [[File: Your filename.jpg, png, or whatever | 200px |right (or left]] This will give you a red link. Then after saving the page click on the red link and upload the file. Put some description in the description field so we know who owns the copyright, and then save. When you re-load your article it will appear... magic! дрсйпдц 21:38, 18 July 2012 (MST)

Now I'm Confused

I can't figure out what the messages in Line 75 signify, and no longer can I access the article that I wrote in Sandbox1. Let me know when we can get in touch to resolve this.

Arosner 13:38, 19 July 2012 (MST)

I replaced the link to your article, which I had moved to live space, as I thought it was ready for the World. So look at the link where the sandbox link was and you can always find your article that way now. It's live, but you can still edit it the same as before. дрсйпдц 13:26, 23 July 2012 (MST)
Tony, what is this? Applied_kinesiology_-WikiChiro_Article#Protocol_guidelines I looked at these references and they have NOTHING to do with AK or even Chiropractic. Space filler??? Drsjpdc (talk) 14

Two answers: a.- please see the question above for the blue link HEREdirectly to the material I was questioning. I can remove it myself, but I would prefer to give you an opportunity to explain the reasoning behind it first; and;

b.- The white space is simply a problem with the wiki itself that even Wikipedia has not solved yet. Check out , e.g. Massage on their site and there is the same issue. For now we just have to live with it. Drsjpdc (talk) 14:54, 12 August 2012 (MST)

Inappropriate section removed

Tony, I removed this, since after a couple of requests you didn;t answer my questions about it:

==Protocol guidelines== The following is a brief guide to the most common citation (reference) formats for differing sources.

===Standard journal article=== Petitti DB, Crooks VC, Buckwalter JG, Chiu V. Blood pressure levels before dementia. Arch Neurol. 2005 Jan;62(1):112-6.

===Standard journal article on the Internet=== Polgreen PM, Diekema DJ, et al. Risk factors for groin wound infection after femoral artery catheterization: a case-control study. Infect Control Hosp Epidemiol. 2006 Jan [cited 2007 Jan 5];27(1):34-7

===Standard book=== Jenkins PF. Making sense of the chest x-ray: a hands-on guide. New York: Oxford University Press; 2005. 194 p.

===Standard citation to a home page=== Complementary/Integrative Medicine. Houston: University of Texas, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center; c2007 [cited 2007 Feb 21].

===Newspaper or Magazine Article=== Di Rado, Alicia. "Trekking through College: Classes Explore Modern Society Using the World of Star Trek." Los Angeles Times 15 Mar. 1995: A3.

In a single article it is not the place to teach how to reference other articles and papers. Perhaps a separate article could be written about just how to do that. And you can recopy this there... Drsjpdc (talk) 11:08, 14 August 2012 (MST)
