My son Robert Press, MS, (Comp Sci),DC, and I founded this site during a long and ugly battle on Wikipedia with a cabal of anti-alternative health forces who were skewing all alternative health articles out of balance. When I tried to bring some semblance of reason back to the subject they set me up for a "community ban" on trumped up, libelous and manufactured charges. It was not until Jimmy Wales himself, interceded that they reinstated my account. Thereafter, I have done very little on Wikipedia, determined instead to bring my expertise and time to venues that would be better for the profession, and where more objective information can be provided to the public. I finally went back after several years away, and after doing an article on the [[Association of Chiropractic Colleges]] They reimposed the ban for they claimed this constituted "self-promotion". Such is our situation on Wikipedia. Slandered and banned if we write anything positive about this profession, regardless of its relevence or accuracy. I'm a practicing Chiropractic physician (36 years). And a BUREAUCRAT for the New York based site called OurMed. The promotion was made by Florence Devouard (Anthere), former Chairman of the Wikimedia Board of Directors, who is one of the founding members of the OurMed BoD. In early 2010, OurMed's Chairman, Prof. Stan Kachnowski, of Columbia's HITlab, invited me to become the new Executive Technical Director for OurMed, and I have accepted with gratitude.
Professional Background
I was chief physician for the "Unified Team" (former USSR) at the XVIth Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, France in 1992. Founded the World Governing body for Sports Chiropractic "FICS", Fédération Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport, now headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland at the Maison Internationale du Sports, and administered in Toronto, at the World Federation of Chiropractic offices. I served on the Medical commissions of two IOC recognized World Sports Governing bodies; 1st as Chairman for the Fed. Int'l de Roller Sports, and then as Vice-Chairman for FIDE (Chess). Founded the IAOCO.org, and co-founded WikiChiro.org. I served as a founding Board member/advisor, and webmaster for the International Sports Chiropractic Association, which was the liaison body interacting with the World Olympian's Association. In 2010, at the World Congress of Chiropractic in Rio, is was merged in to the FICS as a Commission, o which I still serve. Hobbies include: Biblical archeology, Clarinet, Cello, Pocket Billiards and Artist blacksmithing, making swords and medieval armor.
