BUYING FISH OIL IS VERY TRICKY - let's assume you find a brand that looks really good. The label says it contains 1500mg of fish oil and further that it has 150mg of DHA, and 250mg of EPA. These are the Omega-3 fatty acids you really want to take. So let's do a quick calculation: that's 150+250=400mg of Omega-3's... subtract that from the 1500mg total oil, and it leaves you with 1100mg of what? The government does not require the manufacturer to tell you how much of the other fatty acids is in the oil, thus you could have as much as another 800+ mg of Omega-6 fatty acids... which are PRO-inflammatory!
