Gordon Lawson, MSc, DC, DHN, DACBN, FCCSS(C), FCCO is President of, and a Chiropractor at the Maxabilitation, Inc. clinic in Unionville, ONT, Canada,a multidisciplinary health care team, where he also practices with his wife, Dr. Susan Gillis Lawson. He was born 17 March 1950, in Toronto Ontario Canada.
After studying at York University, Dr. Lawson attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (C.M.C.C.), and obtained his D.C. in 1976. Dr. Lawson went on to earn his Diploma in Human Nutrition from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, a postgraduate medical school of the University of London, U.K. With the completion of the course he was appointed to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as Nutritional Consultant. He later completed his Masters of Science degree from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, U.S.A. as well as Fellowships in the Royal College of Chiropractic Sport Science and the College of Chiropractic Orthopaedics.
Gordon is a lecturer at CMCC having taught nutrition for many years and is currently teaching Graston technique as well as principles and practice/ethics. He serves on several committees of the RCCSS as well as involvement on numerous boards. He served at the VANOC Olympics in the core medical team. He has published articles on Aqua therapy and Nutrition and most recently on Fibromyalgia in JMPT and on Pseudo Angina Pectoris in Chiropractic Medicine. Dr. Lawson enjoys working with medical specialists at CCMIM as well as time spent volunteering at a health clinic for city street youth. He is an avid cyclist and Nordic skier and has three children with his wife Susan who is also a D.C.
Dr. Lawson is notable for having been the Chief of Services at the IOC Polyclinic at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, in 2010. He was among the VANOC host medical team delegation of more than 20 DC's working officially in the IOC polyclinic for the first time since the FICS was founded and began lobbying and working towards this goal [1]. It was brought to fruition by the efforts of the Royal College of Chiropractic Sport Science (Canada), of which Dr. Lawson is a distinguished "Fellow".
He is an assistant professor at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, in Toronto, ONT, and is a member of the Executive Council of the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic[2] (FICS).
