The Japanese Sports Chiropractic Federation (J-FOCS) was established in March, 2001 resulting from legislation enacted by the Fédération Internationale de Chiropratique du Sports (FICS), which required that national sports councils were needed to remain in membership in FICS.

FICS activities in Japan began from the 1989 FICS General Assembly held in Hong Kong, attended by Mitsumasa Endo, DC. In 1991 Hasumi Hisashi, DC attended the FICS Congress in that year, and in 1996 the FICS General Assembly in Montreal, Canada. In 1993 Yozo Kawanishi, DC attended the FICS general assembly in London, England. And, in 1995 Masahiro Noboru, DC went to the General assembly in Atlanta pre Olympic Games Congress. In 1997 Yozo Kawanishi,DC was our delegate at the World Congress on Chirorapctic / FICS Congress here in Tokyo, Japan. In 1999 and Ikuyo registered DC went to Auckland, NZ, and 2000 Yozo Kawanishi, DC was a part of the FICS delegation to the GAISF General Assembly in Osaka, Japan.

The formation of the J-FOCS was completed by the individual member DCs listed below:
    By the FICS Terms revision at the Congres in 1998, registration with the FICS was groups of individuals as a Sports Council in each country. The FICS' Japanese, activities were inherited thusly by J-FOCS, which was established in March 2001 under the name "Japan Sports Chiropractic Federation".
