Dr. Maka'ala Yates (born 1948 in Kona), is a Doctor of Chiropractic and Hawaiian Medicine Specialist with special interests in traditional Hawaiian lomilomi, Hawaiian fasting, Hawaiian meditation and the integration of indigenous Hawaiian medicine & modalities into modern healthcare systems.

Maka'ala is a Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian). He founded the Hawaiian Healing Academy, Mana Ola healing centers, Ahahui Ho'ola Hawaii (Hawaiian Healing Association), and the Pacific Island Healer's Council. Maka'ala was one of the original crew members of the historic voyaging canoe, Hokulea, in 1976.

In the summer of 2005, Maka'ala received the prestigious Kaonohi Award from the Hawaiian medical board, Papa Ola Lōkahi, for his excellence in Hawaiian medicine and community support for the Hawaiian people.
