Robert Hazel, DC, DACBSP is a Chiropractic Physician practicing in Spring Lake, New Jersey. He was a 1973 graduate of National College of Chiropractic, and was a member of the first ever class in Sports Chiropractic, given by National-Lincoln College in 1979, holding certificate no. 7 as Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. He was later in the first ever class given for the Diplomate in Sports Chiropractic, given by Logan College of Chiropractic in 1994, and holds Diplomate certificate no 6. He is notable for having been President of the ACA Sports Council.

Biography

Dr. Hazel, became President of the ACA Sports Council in 1986. When Chiropractic Sports Medicine was created by Williams and Wilkins Medical Publishers in 1987, he became its Editor-in-Chief, a post he retained until it merged into the Journal of Sports Chiropractic and Rehabilitation in 1996. Dr. Hazel was elected to the ACA Sports Council Hall of Fame [1]in ......

Dr. Hazel was an associate founding member of the International Marathon Medical Director’s Association (IMMDA) in 1982, representing the Jersey Shore Marathon[citation needed]. He was also a founding member of the Chiropractic Research Journal Editor’s Council (CRJEC) [2] beginning in May of 1990. He was a member of the postgraduate faculty of Logan Chiropractic College and New York Chiropractic College from 1980 thru 1993[citation needed] lecturing nationally and internationally on injuries involving the lower extremity and chiropractic management of those conditions. In March of 1990, Dr. Hazel was the recipient of the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council Leadership Award[citation needed].

During his career, he was medical director for the Jersey Shore Marathon for most of its operating years, and has been prominent in Sports Chiropractic through much of his career, quoted in books [3] and articles on Sports Chiropractic. From 1992-1995 he served on the Board of Directors of the Foundation of Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER) [4] .
